Publications Listing Calls for art
AOM or Art opportunities Monthly

Art Opportunities Monthly (AOM) is a pre-screened art opportunities list for traditional and contemporary artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, printmaking, book art, computer art, collage, weaving, fiber, textiles, ceramics, papermaking, mixed media, photography, computer art, monoprint, pastel, performance art, drawing, enameling, wood carving, crafts, jewelry, installation art, new media, public art, gouache, watercolor painting and every other visual medium. It is for those working in any style or geographic location and is available by ground mail or email.

Art Calendar

Carolyn, an artist (see http://www.Proeber.com for examples of her work), founded the magazine in 1986 because she saw the need for practical, readable, and comprehensive art career/art marketing information for visual artists. "The other magazines taught the artist how to paint or sculpt," she says, "but until Art Calendar no one taught the artist how to sell." She adds, "We assume our readers have matured into their styles and media. We help them take the next logical step: making a living doing what they love."

What are Self Representing Artists?
Artists who sell art that they have made themselves, on eBay (or elsewhere), without a middle man like a dealer or gallery. These can be both established or emerging artists.

What is Artbyus.com

Artbyus.com is

"...a setting where we can sell our art in a venue that is specifically geared toward artists...artists sell their own art, the artisans sell their own pieces and fine galleries can sell art by their best artists - all for a lot less than on other online auction venues, and without the feel of a online rummage sale, making art buying online a lot more fun and a lot less stressful. Our artists live all over the world, each with his/her own unique style and personality that shows in their work. We are truly honored to play a part in the professional lives of such a great community of creators." -Conni Togel - Founder of ArtByUs

Welcome
I've decided to build a website for our auctionartists yahoo group. I would have used Yahoos site builder, but this one is easier & has better free features.

I'm going to be moving some posts from eBay's Art Diva & Artistpreneur groups to here in order to keep a more permanent record. Some of the information we have accumulated there is too valuable to let it get deleted when the discussions go too long without activity.

I'm also considering doing some interviews of successful Auction Artists from eBay & Artbyus.com.
If you have any questions you would like answered or have any suggestions on whom to interview, please let me know!
